About Your Coach
My name is Yukti Kapoor Mehandiratta.
I've been engaged with public speaking for the last 20 years and have spoken at 1000+ national and international events, the most tantalizing of which was Gladrags Mrs India's Q&A round.
And have been fortunate to share the stage with eminent speakers like Gaur Gopal Das, Byju Raveendran, Nandan Nilekani, Prahlad Kakkar, and many more.
You might be wondering if I am gifted with confidence, or have a knack for public speaking.
Honestly, that's not the case.
I was never a gifted speaker who could just go on the stage and deliver an applauding speech.
It all started with an embarrassing experience of tumbling on stage to recite a Sanskrit poem for Junior School Competition. While I was a topper in Sanskrit, yet, reciting a poem in front of so many people was just not my thing.
I wasn't just nervous but my entire body was shivering evidently. I simply froze!
The only thing I wanted, was to disappear magically.
Of course, I didn't win that competition but I did win the challenge of putting myself back on stage.
And I kept up to it time and again.
The journey from being that coy girl to becoming a beauty pageant winner was not an easy one, to say the least.
There are many lessons that I've learned the hard way.
How I wish someone could pack it all up using simple and practical techniques to ace the skill of speaking in public.
So, I decided to do just that!
